That next winter I read an article in our local paper about a crazy trail race on Capitol Peak in a blizzard. For some reason, I wanted to learn more and found myself running in a local park at night with John Pearch and James Varner(who ran with no light of course). These guys were nuts, but they were sponsered by Vasque, so I paid attention. I started running ultras and I competed in the Oregon Ultra Series until my wife made me run in Washington. But I had problems locating races on all the different web sites and missed the fun of participating in an ultra series. So I decided to create my own web site calender and start a Washington Ultra Series. So began Trail-Run-Crazy.com, a resource for Trail running and ultra racing in the Pacific Northwest. To keep information flowing, I also created the newsletter Ultra Crazy!
