Looks like RD James Varner has put together another steller weekend of fun with good weather to boot! Check out this great post about Orcas Trailwork. If you didn't know, Chuckanut is full, but there is still room for the Capitol Peak 50 miler. 2. Check the Calendar!Keep an eye on the Trail-run-Crazy Race Calendar. There are a couple new races and some race dates occasionally change. Also, I know there are some more races in the works. Let me know of any additions or changes by using my Contact Us form. 3. Recovery is the Key!We all know we need to rest after a hard workout or race, Hammer Nutrition's Recoverite supplies your body with the proper 3:1 ratio of complex carbohydrates and high quality protein to minimize post-exercise soreness, rebuild muscle tissue, and restore muscle glycogen. Instead of drinking chocolate milk, try my new favorite, Hammer Chocolate Recoverite. Check it out at Hammer-Crazy.com. I'll be handing out Mountain Huckelberry gels at Orcas and have some Strawberry Recoverite if you ask. 4. Stash the Hat!It's been such a warm winter, I often overdress on my training runs. Last weekend, I jammed my vest down the back of my tights only to have it slither down my leg! Here's the tip, when you don't have any pockets, shove your hat, gloves, vest in your shorts or tights, just remember to leave about a third hanging out so your waistband will hold them in place. It helps to tightly roll up a vest or jacket first. -no jokes please!- 5. Past issues and how to subscribeClick this link to subscribe to Ultra Crazy! |
