Please pass this newsletter to a friend! 1. About Ultra-Crazy!My two favorite pastimes are trail running and ultra web surfing. There are great web sites, blogs and articles for trail running and ultra racing, but you have to search all over to find what's relevent. So I created Trail-Run-Crazy as a one stop information center for NW trail runners. It is still "under construction" but in the future, most of the content will come from readers. You can post directly on one of the pages or send me a link from your blog or email. Whether it's a race report, a great running trail you want to share, or a gear review, there will be a place on the website. To keep you all informed, we have Ultra-Crazy! a free bi-weekly newsletter emailed to your favorite device. So please feel free to post or send a comment to help us build this web site for you! 2. Washington Ultra SeriesAfter participating in the Oregon Trail Ultramarathon Series a couple of years ago, I was so impressed, I wanted to do it every year. But my wife said I need to race in Washington, so after sampling what Washington had to offer last year, I thought why don't we have a series for all the awesome ultra races we have here in Washington. So I decided to create a series for Washington ultra races on Trail-Run-Crazy.com to get the ball rolling. Best four finishes out of 6 races per age group. We are adopting the scoring system that Oregon uses and will be hustling up some sponsers for awards. Check it out here and let me know what you think. This should be alot of fun! 3. Crazy Tips-- Warm StuffI have a touch of Reye's syndrome, which means my hands get cold very easily. I'm constantly looking for good running gloves and have finally found some that are insulated, waterproof and made for runners like me, check out the Brooks Wanganui™ Shelter Glove. I've done 5 runs in driving rain and 4 runs in snow with no complaints. I also picked up a great insulted vest from Brooks, L.S.D. Thermal Vest. I get too warm wearing jackets in our NW slop but this vest keeps me toasty warm in all conditions without overheating. -- Recommended ReadingFor Christmas this year, I got "C.C.Pyles Amazing Foot Race". If you think what we do is crazy, this guy staged a coast to coast foot race across America in 1928! The author describes the race and the nearly 200 fascinating and desperate runners that started the race. You can check it out on Shepa Herb's Books . It's also available at any book store. 4.
